Elon Musk's plan to provide Starlink internet to "internationally recognized aid organizations" in Gaza is something that Israel claims it would oppose.

After connections were shut off late Friday, Elon Musk announced that relief organizations in Gaza will have access to Starlink satellite internet.

Following Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip, cellular and internet communications were lost. It subsequently started its initial ground attacks into Gaza.

There was a problem with the emergency 101 phone number; ambulances could not be summoned. According to reports from sites like The Guardian, many journalists and charity workers in the Gaza Strip were also without communication.

Later, in response to Musk's post on X, Israel's minister of communications, Shlomo Karhi, declared that Israel will oppose the SpaceX CEO's attempt to provide Starlink to Gaza.

In the article, Karhi declared, "Israel will fight this with every tool at its disposal."

It will be used by HAMAS for terrorist operations. We know it, musk knows it, and there is no question about it. ISIS is HAMAS.

Maybe Musk would agree to terms if our kidnapped sons and daughters were released first.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat, denounced the lack of internet and phone connection in a post on X, calling it "unacceptable."

Musk retorted, saying, "Starlink will support connectivity to internationally recognized aid organizations in Gaza."

Starlink will facilitate access to globally renowned humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza.

There has not yet been any confirmation that Starlink has formally offered its services beyond Musk's tweet.

According to The Wall Street Journal, it's also uncertain if Gaza has any Starlink terminals, which are necessary for the satellite internet connection to function.

According to Tech Crunch, Karhi stated that discussions regarding the use of Starlink services in areas next to conflict zones have taken place with SpaceX.

The degree of power that Starlink connectivity afforded Musk during the fight has drawn criticism for its role in the war in Ukraine. He is suspected of turning off the Starlink network in Crimea during last year's Ukrainian navy assault on a Russian naval vessel.

An outside-of-regular-business-hours request for comment from Insider was not immediately answered by SpaceX.

Saturday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's top advisor Mark Regev stated on BBC Radio 4 that "in military operations conducted by the British army, the American army, often it is standard behavior to disrupt the communications of your enemy."
