The Google Pixel 8’s latest leak shows off big AI camera updates

We now have our first comprehensive look at how Google will incorporate more AI into its flagship smartphones according to the leaker Kamila Wojciechowska, who provided 91Mobiles with the Pixel 8 camera specifications and a new AI promo film for the device.

A more powerful version of Magic Eraser, the company revealed earlier this year that Magic Editor will be coming to "select" Pixel phones. It gives you the ability to edit every image you capture to make it seem anyway you like. That is demonstrated in a demonstration in which three photographs of a family riding a carousel are combined into a single image, ensuring that everyone is grinning and looking at the camera simultaneously.

The company also uses a photograph to show off Magic Editor by shifting subjects around, removing background elements, and switching out the midday sky for a sunset, which also alters the overall mood of the lighting. Everything resembles what Google first demonstrated at I/O back in May. It also provides interesting discussion material regarding the dispute over whether or not photography accurately captures reality.

The video also demonstrates brand-new DSLR-style manual camera features that enable you adjust an image's shutter speed, ISO, and focus rather than the typical tap-to-focus functionality of built-in camera apps.

According to the specifications Wojciechowska shared, the Pixel 8 Pro has a better camera system, with a 48MP ultrawide camera with a 125.5-degree field of view and a 48MP telephoto lens, while both cameras receive a 50MP wide camera. Additionally, according to the specifications, the Pixel 8 will have a 12MP ultrawide camera with an increased field of vision from 114 degrees to 125.8 degrees.
