Apple Significantly Lowers Repair Fees for iPhone 15 Pro Models With Cracked Back Glass

As we reported last week, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a more repairable internal design, with a redesigned frame that allows for the back glass panel to be easily removed from the devices. This change was first made to the iPhone14 and iPhone 14 Plus last year, and now it extends to the Pro models this year.

At the time, we predicted that customers without AppleCare+ coverage would likely experience considerably reduced repair costs for iPhone 15 Pro models with shattered back glass, and this prediction has now been verified. According to Ian Zelbo, Apple has updated its website in the United States with information regarding iPhone 15 repair costs, disclosing that it will cost $169 or $199 to repair the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max with rear glass damage. These costs are $499 or $549 for the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, respectively.

9to5Mac also noted the cheaper fees. Back glass damage can be repaired for $29 for iPhone owners who have AppleCare+ protection.

All four of Apple's iPhone 15 models have a battery replacement cost of $99 in the United States, which is the same as it was for the iPhone 14 series. Visit Apple's website to learn about additional iPhone 15 repair costs for things like the rear camera or other damage.
